The Challenge
Background
Why this challenge?
While walking on the road, I noticed people throwing away items in good condition on the road.
This made me question the barriers to donating and how these items could help others. It inspired me to explore the problem and create a solution to simplify donations.
user research

Users want an easy, convenient way to donate various items through one app instead of managing multiple apps.

Transportation is a big problem

Donors are interested in Volunteering
60% of the survey participants wanted an volunteer enrollment option in the same donation app.

Onboarding Screens
Three onboarding screens are provided for this application which gives the introduction to the application and features provided in it. The user gets a basic idea and understanding of the application.
Fund Donation
Donors can choose preset donation amounts or enter a custom amount. The platform also collects personal details for cases where donations are made on behalf of others.
Books Donation
Donors can provide the book's name, author, and photo to help beneficiaries better understand and learn about the book.
Food Donation
Donors can share food's cooked and expiry dates to inform beneficiaries of its consumable period and choose suitable transport based on quantity.
Clothes Donation
Donors can add photos, notes on clothing size or fabric details, and choose truck transport if the quantity exceeds a bike's capacity.
In-app Messenger
Donors can use this in-app messenger to communicate with the charities to get the information or clarification needed and need not go in search of the contact information of those charities anymore.

evaluation
Key findings from usability testing
I conducted scenario-based testing with potential users to evaluate the app. Participants found the Enjevo app intuitive and appreciated its simplicity.
They were particularly happy with the donation pickup and delivery service, expressing their happiness at how convenient it makes the process. However, few users noted the need for real-time progress updates during ongoing donations on the home screen.
In response, I added a small card to the home screen just above the bottom navigation bar to display live
donation progress.
Overall Impact
Enjevo simplifies the donation process by consolidating multiple donation needs into a single platform, enabling users to donate and volunteer effortlessly.
By bridging the gap between donors and charities, it fosters increased contributions, better resource allocation, and improved community engagement.
Reflections
The Enjevo project reinforced the importance of secondary research in uncovering crucial insights into user behaviors and preferences, shaping key design decisions.
Engaging with potential users provided valuable community perspectives, which highlighted unexpected challenges
and opportunities.
Additionally, adopting a holistic view of the donation journey allowed us to identify pain points and design effective solutions that enhanced the overall user experience.
